For a full day's fishing we depart at 09.00 and return at 16.00 and we can be on good fishing marks within 15 minutes of leaving harbour. The fishing is good and varied, with over 30 different species having been caught over the last 3 years.

Natural reefs and varied ground from kelp-covered rocks to shingles and sands allow targeted fishing on the drift or at anchor depending on wind and tide conditions.
The strong tide streams around the rocky headlands hold specimen pollack.
Wrecks are under fished because of weather and tide exposure but this means that, when conditions are right and they can be fished, they can be very productive.
Wherever we fish you may expect to catch any of our regular species such as mackerel, herring, launce, cod, haddock, whiting, ling, coalfish, pollack, pouting, plaice, dab, turbot, ballan wrasse, cuckoo wrasse, grey, red & tub gurnard, lesser spotted dogfish, bull huss, spurdog, smooth hound, tope, thornback ray and conger.

More species are known to be around and would repay specialist efforts; tope baits are regularly taken by porbeagle and there is very deep water midchannel where common skate are caught commercially.
We encourage catch and release for all species but insist upon it for tope, which we measure and tag where possible before release.

From mid-summer until autumn very large tope may be encountered but unless you are properly rigged you have small chance of boating them. Therefore if you specifically want to go tope fishing let us know in advance and we will see you are equipped and rigged properly to aid both catching and releasing.
